NPSL Combine

NPSL Combine

For years and years players, coaches, and fans have chosen the United Soccer Leagues-Premier Development League over the National Premier Soccer League. The USL-PDL is chosen over the NPSL More often then not because of the surplus of professional soccer opportunities offered within the USL-PDL. After twelve years of this dispute does it finally end here?

The National Premier Soccer League has just recently launched their first ever Professional soccer combine for National Premier Soccer League Players. Starting this year the combine will be sponsored by PUMA and will become an annual event. It will be held January 9-12 at Broward Community College in Fort Lauderdale, FL. About 18 players from each region can be nominated to participate in the combine. Club coaches are responsible for selecting and applying their top players to participate in the combine. Many of the nations best professional soccer teams coaches and scouts will be in attendance at the combine.

The NPSL has added this combine in hope to produce more professional soccer players through the league. By generating professional soccer players will cause for more talent to want to play within the league. I think the NPSL is taking the right step by trying to offer more opportunities for players. As more players earn professional soccer contracts through the league, more and more players will strive to enter the NPSL ranks in hope to do the same. With more professional circulation and talent being added through the league will produce and generate much more publicity and audience. Since the semi-professional league started in 2003, the main goal has been to prevail to the same level or achieve a higher level of talent and competitiveness than the USL-PDL.

The USL-PDL has prevailed for two reasons over the NPSL in all the previous years. First off because the league has been around for many more years. The NPSL was founded and created in 2003 which means it is a very young league. The second reason why the USL-PDL has powered over the NPSL is because the language has multiple pro soccer combines and produces pro soccer players year in and year out. With the NPSL offering professional opportunities now will really make things interesting. It's the NPSL vs USL-PDL Battle for the best rivalry!

The National Premier Soccer League is on the rise to achieve a rewarding task. Within the next few years the NPSL will have double the audience and publicity as they ever have had in previous years. As the battle of the two leagues heats up, so does the talent.
