USL Pro 2015 Expansions
The USL Pro expansion excites and seems to amaze me year after year. The bundle of anxious jitters we get, patiently waiting to hear what city, club, and fans will next become apart of soccer founding history.
After only being founded in September of 2010 the USL Pro had fourteen teams compete in the 2014 season. There are now a whopping ten more teams to join the USL Pro in the spring of 2015. The league which fielded fourteen teens this past season will now field twenty-four. Of the twenty-four teams, five teams are owned, partially owned, or affiliated with Major League Soccer.
I am very proud of the direction USL Pro soccer is going. The league is on the right track to finding major success and contributions to the development of American soccer. Each and every year the average attendance of matches are increasing at fascinating rate. The talent and skill level is increasing each and every year. More and more players are finding themselves professional contracts and climbing the enduring, but highly rewarding ladder to Major League Success. The USL Pro is to account for the growing soccer craze and talent across the nation.
Below is the list of the ten 2015 expansion teams:
- Vancouver Whitecaps 2
- Austin Aztex
- Charlotte Independence
- Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC
- Louisville City FC
- Portland Timbers 2
- Real Monarchs SLC
- Saint Louis FC
- Seattle Sounders 2
- Tulsa Roughnecks FC
